July 19th and 20th - Shikha Joshi: Creating Organic Forms On and Off The Wheel
“I like to create rustic pots within the constraints of an electric kiln. To achieve that look much of the work begins at the making cycle. From rustic yunomis to double walled rock bowls, from kurniki vases to plates with organic edges we will work both on and off the wheel to create organic looking forms that emulate nature.” - Shikha Joshi
This is a two day, wet clay, making and demonstration workshop led by Shikha Joshi. Each day begins at 10 a.m. (participants should bring their own lunch to enjoy or expect to go our for lunch). Participant’s work will be bisque fired at the end of the workshop, and individuals will schedule pick ups at a later date. This workshop has a maximum of 6 participants.
Things to bring:
A toothed metal rib for scoring, metal rib, wooden ribs, your favorite sculpting tools, shredder rasp (or rasp of your choice), needle tool, snacks, if you have a banding wheel (this is not required but can be helpful the studio currently only has a limited number).
The studio uses several different cone 10 clays that participants will learn about and have the opportunity to purchase additional clay after the workshop if desired. If you would prefer to bring your cone 10 clay body that is acceptable so long as all the reclaim is kept separate from our studio clay. No cone 6 clays please.

Before purchasing your workshop reservation please review our cancellation policy
When making your plans, please consider your participation means the studio and instructors are purchasing supplies months before the workshop. You are making a commitment to the instructor, and reserving a spot that someone else could potentially take.
Cancellations (minus the $50 cancellation fee) can be made up to three weeks before the workshop.
While we understand that emergencies happen, any cancellation made after the three week period is nonrefundable. If the cancellation is due to an emergency contact us by phone first, (845) 332-6585, and follow up with a voice mail and email if you cannot reach us. You will be given a credit for a similarly priced workshop at a later date.
