August 30-31: Exploring Form: The Tea Bowl:
Only 3 left in stock
Tea and tea bowls are in an ever evolving dialog with tradition, expression, and function. In this workshop Andrew and participants will explore different approaches to making tea bowls through several hand building techniques, and examine contemporary and historic artist’s approach to the form that began Andrew’s exploration of pottery while he was teaching English in rural Japan. This is a two day wet clay building workshop with our program manager Andrew Sartorius.
The Oki Doki Studio provides an intimate workshop experience focused on building a strong foundation in atmospheric firing methods. We seek to create an environment of cooperative learning where everyone can communicate, share, and discover new possibilities in clay and fire together.
